Elden Ring Fan Spots Gaming Themed Restaurant Menu

[ad_1]

Despite the massive growth the video game industry has seen over the past decade, it’s still rare to see video game culture enter real life outside of t-shirts. Ring of Elden is a great example. It’s the biggest game release of 2022 and has sold over 10 million copies, but no one expects to see any Malenia references beyond social media. Needless to say, one restaurant-goer was recently surprised by the cocktail menu, which featured several Ring of Elden– themed drinks.

GAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Redditor OdnarDominus recently shared his discovery on the Ring of Elden subreddit. Their post included a photo of part of the restaurant’s cocktail menu. The name of the drinks section is “Slammerz'” and surprisingly it featured four drinks that clearly reference Ring of Elden. No other items in the menu referred to the game or the game in general. It’s a mystery how it happened.

The four drinks must be recognizable references to Ring of Elden players. The first is Volcano Manor, which blends rum with grapefruit, beetroot, lime, and seltzer water. This is a direct reference to the location of Volcano Manor in Ring of Elden. Drink number two is Phantom Steed, made with citrus vodka, fennel, honey, grapefruit, and seltzer water. It’s a nod to Ring of Eldenthe ghostly Mount Torrent. Azur’s Comet is the third drink, made with tequila, lime, and ginger beer. The Azure Comet is a particularly powerful sorcery that can be cast from afar. Finally, there’s the Tarnished Currency, a concoction of gin, mint and seltzer referencing the Ring of Eldenis the tarnished protagonist.

The rest of the drinks list is largely empty of other game references. One drink is called the Site of Grace, another Ring of Elden reference, and others are a bit corny like the Arrakis. All in all, it’s clear whoever named the drinks was having fun. They celebrate a game they enjoyed and wink at others Ring of Elden fans in the process. Maybe it was a bartender, maybe it was a manager; it doesn’t really matter.

Those interested in researching the restaurant will need to find a way to get to Salem, Massachusetts. The name of the restaurant is Opus and it serves upscale Asian-influenced bar food ranging from sushi to drunken noodles, street tacos, macaroni and cheese. A carbonated unofficial Ring of Elden a cocktail or two would probably go well with the food.

Video game-related food offerings aren’t necessarily rare, of course. A good example is the Final Fantasy 14 Pop-up cafe, which sometimes serves a variety of themed meals based on consumables found in-game. There are also always video game-inspired Rockstar energy drinks, like the upcoming star field beverage. From Software should perhaps consider opening a pop-up cafe to serve Crimson Tears soda, Bolus Donuts, Jerky Jerky, Shabriri Grapes, and Boiled Shrimp and Crab. On the other hand, maybe unofficial cocktails are a better option.

Ring of Elden is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
