Being the only restaurant in the north with an almost impossible three Michelin stars naturally elevates L’Enclume above the rest. Simon Rogan’s fine dining establishment has several other accolades to its name, the most recent of which was named one of the UK’s top 10 restaurants to eat at the National Restaurant Awards 2022.
Chef patron Simon was also named Chef of the Year at the prestigious industry awards ceremony, which recognizes the best dining experiences in the UK. NRA judges said Cartmel’s flagship restaurant on the edge of the Lake District “is a standard bearer for modern, creative and naturalistic cuisine”.

Patron Chef Simon works alongside Chef Paul Burgalieres and Executive Chef Tom Barnes in the kitchen, to create dishes inspired by his culinary travels around the world, from Hong King to London. L’Enclume is part of Simon’s Cumbria food empire, which also includes his farm and Henrock in Windermere. Fresh produce and ingredients from our farm are used in its four Lake District-based restaurant menus, in particular Rogan & Co, which is a more relaxed dining experience led by Chef Cillian Hennessy.
