Taco Bell broke America’s heart when the fast food chain removed the iconic Mexican pizza from its menus in late 2020.

But residents of the coast now have the chance to try a new Mexican pizza at a local restaurant.

Pepe’s Bosque, a Mexican restaurant in D’Iberville, now offers Mexican pizza, the company announced on its Facebook page on Monday.

Their pizza, made from tostada shells and topped with cheese and a few fresh tomatoes, costs $ 7 and is on their “secret menu” which is yet to be printed, owner Lilian Perez-Gollott said on Facebook.

Pepe’s Bosque captioned their photo with a heart-eyed emoji.

“This version of Mexican Pizza makes us feel warm,” said the post, which was shared dozens of times.

If you want to feel (and taste) the nostalgia for yourself, diners can order Pepe’s Mexican Pizza during normal business hours, in or out, Monday through Saturday 10:30 am-9pm.

Most coastal towns saw a dramatic increase in foot traffic to restaurants and bars in 2021, including D’Iberville.
