Restaurant menu sparks 9/11 horror, including Flight 93 Redirect Crab Dip and Pentagon Pie

The Clubhouse restaurant in Aquia Harbor, Virginia has drawn shock — and then an apology — online over its 9/11 “Patriot Day 2022” menu.

The menu, advertised as available only on the anniversary of the tragic terror attack, featured items like “Pentagon Pie”, “9-11 Oysters” and a “Remember-tini”, according to a Facebook post on Tuesday.

For those with no choice, Stafford’s Restaurant has offered a “Never Forget Sampler” with a bit of each menu item.

The menu was greeted almost immediately by critics for its apparent insensitivity. Although he was quickly deleted from Facebook, he had already been captured and reposted on Twitter.

A Twitter user pointed to the restaurant’s closeness to area military and veterans.

“Appalling,” read the tweet.

The restaurant is also about 45 minutes from the Pentagon, where 184 people were killed and heavily damaged in the attack.

The menu manager was quick to respond to the backlash and promised “a new theme” in an apology posted on a private community Facebook page, according to the Daily Mail.

“I apologize to those I offended with the Sunday 9/11 Seafood post. My intention was to bring attention to that horrible day 21 years ago. To honor those who lost so much as well as those who gave their all that day,” manager George White said. wrote.

An announced new menu is dedicated to football with items like the ‘Touch Down-tini’, ‘Coin Toss Chocolate Pie’ and ‘Offense Oysters’.
